Our Process

We do things a little differently from what people are used to when looking to adopt a new furry family member.

First Things First...

It's important to know going in to this that we operate on a "best match" basis--NOT first come, first serve.  We know how tough it can be to do everything right and still not have things work out, but we're dedicated to making sure the animals we place are in the BEST place for them, and this isn't something we take lightly.

Meet & Greet

When an adoption application is being considered, the first step is an in-person meeting. This might be at our site, or in an agreed-upon "neutral zone" if there are other pets in the household to get everyone aquainted. There might be multiple meet & greets.

Home Visits

The next step in the process is a home visit. Like the meet and greets, there may be more than one of these to make sure everyone gets along smoothly and so everyone can be sure it's a perfect match for everyone involved.

Consideration Period

The last piece of the puzzle is the consideration period. This is a period for BOTH parties to take a step back and evaluate the situation before any commitment is made. After all, it's tough to be object when you have literal puppy dog eyes gazing into your heart.
